Summary and target audience- This book is about how nana bear lost her beloved cockatoo.  The cockatoo leaves the house in the middle of winter. She is lost and Nana Bear mourns the loss of the bird. In the end the bird is found and all is well. The target audience would be children who have lost something dear to their heart and had it found and returned.

Evaluation of Literature- This book is a warming story of the roles that friends play when in time of need. It is well written and and the moral of the story is charming.

Literary Elements- This book uses some rhyming and personification in it. It gives animals human qualities, Allowing the bird to dance and other animals to speak.

Illustrations- the pictures in the book help depict the story. They have warm colors and help enhance the text of the book.

Mini-lesson- I would use this book in a mini-lesson to help talk about the importance of friends and the importance of taking care of the things you cherish.-
