Summary and target audience- This book is about Concepcion, a little girl, and her grandmother who live on a hill. Then her grandmother passed, and concepcion descided to go to the city wirth nothing but some seeds to plant the next garden. In the end she tought the children of the burrio to garden and then handed some seeds to the neighboring gang to also grow a garden so that all the children of the burrio could eat. The target audience is young children who are interest int he apects of growing food.

Evaluation of Literature- This book struck me harder then usual. It was a very touching story of how if you teach someone to do something instead of giving them  a hand out they wuill learn to sustain themselfs and not have to resort to less then desirable attributes.

Literary Elements- This book remionded me of a fable, You give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, you teahc a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime.

Illustrations- This book uses the illustrations to enhance the text. You would not be able to follw the book on the pictures alone but they are a nice touch.

Mini-lesson- I would use this book as ian opening to teach the class about the basics of morality and what is perceived as right and wrong.
