What Color is Nature?

Tilte- What Color is Nature?
Author- Stephen R. Swinburne
Puiblisher- Boyds Mills Press
Illustrator- Photos taken by Stephen R. Swinburne
Genre- Children's picture book
Readability Lexile-4-7 yrs old

Summary and target audience- This book is about how color is everywhere. It goes through pictures and asks you what color you see. On the next page you see the answer to the question. The target audience would be the young children who are working on their color aquisition.

Evaluation of literature- I thought this book was very straight forward and easy to read. There were no complicated words and the pictures were relevant to the story.

Literary Elements- This book asks a lot of questions.  This requires the children to think about what the answers are.

Illustration- The pictured were a nice touch to the text. Even if the child does not have a reading vocabulary they would be able to ghet what the book is about by the pictures.

Mini-lesson- I would use this book in my classroom when working with children on learning their colors.
